2013-2014

Apparently, my performance as a TA for the 2013-2014 semester was better than I thought! The ECE Department at Rutgers University awarded me with the Teaching Assistant of the Year Award. Thanks to the instructors and the students!

During the Fall 2013 semester, I was a teaching assistant for 14:332:361 – Electronic Devices and 14:332:363 – Electronic Devices Laboratory under Dr. Yicheng Lu. I was one of four teaching assistants, collectively we were:

  • Siamak Abbaslou
  • Mohammadreza Zagarzadeh
  • Jianqing Liu
  • Gradeigh D. Clark

Since there were four of us and five lab sections, I volunteered to TA two lab sections. This gave me respite from having to grade quizzes. An extra lab section is still much more work than grading quizzes. 🙂

The students have to fill outline surveys about our performance as lab instructors, and the results are below.

During the Spring 2014 semester, I was a teaching assistant for 14:332:366 – Digital Electronics 14:332:368 – Digital Electronics Laboratory under Dr. Jian H. Zhao. I was one of three teaching assistants, collectively we were:

  • Kliti Kodra
  • Sourav Sagar
  • Gradeigh D. Clark

This course had, again, 5 lab sections. However, it also had a weekly recitation course that began immediately. I opted to teach the recitation and cover one lab sections while my companions took two labs. Needless to say, the recitation proved to be a ton of work! Also, it was at 8:40 in the morning. :/ I also was required to generate all the exam solutions for the course, which also ended up being quite taxing.

Coming soon: exam solutions and recitation notes!

2014-2015

For the Fall 2014 semester, I’ve been appointed to be the head TA (How exciting!) for 14:332:361 – Electronic Devices and 14:332:363 – Electronic Devices Laboratory under Dr. Yicheng Lu.
